About us
Enhancing the Lives of Marion’s Older Adults
The Friends of Marion COA, Inc. provides financial support and needed resources to the Marion Council on Aging. We enable the Council On Aging to offer a wide range of activities and services that might not be possible through municipal funding alone. We further provide financial resources to other community organizations that help support Marion’s older adults.
About Us
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
FMCOA’s mission is to enhance the dignity, independence, and quality of life of Marion’s older adults by providing funding, resources, and support for programs that foster social engagement, lifelong learning, and overall well-being.
Through fundraising, partnerships, volunteerism, and community outreach, we help bridge the gaps in programs and services not fully covered by the Town of Marion or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We also strive to ensure that older adults in our community have access to enriching activities, supportive services, and opportunities to stay engaged.
We welcome donations, sponsorships, corporate gifts, and memberships, all of which directly support seniors and programs that make a difference in their lives.
Fundraising & Community Support
Our fundraising efforts provide critical financial support for programs, services, and events that benefit Marion’s older adults. We strive to bring a better quality of life to our seniors in our community.
We work closely with the Marion Council on Aging (COA) and other local community organizations to identify and address unmet needs, ensuring seniors in our community have access to social, recreational, and wellness programs. Our initiatives help enhance both physical and emotional well-being by supporting activities that encourage connection, learning, and engagement.
About Us

Our community impact includes:

- Supporting community involvement for facility improvements, including staff office upgrades and outdoor gathering spaces and walking paths that benefit seniors and the broader community. Initiating, facilitating and financially responsible for installing an ADA compliant assistive hearing system at the Cushing Community Center.
- Serving as the major donor and fiscal agent for projects such as the newly installed walking path, outdoor pavilion, and landscape improvements at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center—the official hub for COA programs, recreation activities, and community events.
