As the name implies, Friends of Marion Council on Aging works hard to raise funds to supplement the Town's budget allocation to the COA; however, your involvement isn't limited to writing a check.
Begin by becoming a FMCOA member. It expresses your support of what we do. More information is below.

We can't promise to find everyone a corresponding job, but we greatly appreciate your willingness.

Friends of the Marion COA (FMCOA) works with the COA to bring happiness to older adults through positive experiences and enhanced services that extend beyond the limitations of the Town of Marion's budget and awarded grants. We do this through financial support for service programs, social events, and more. We help older adults enjoy life and feel affirmed in our community.
To keep going, we need your financial support! Please become an FMCOA member by donating today. The Friends of the Marion COA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation will be tax-deductible.
The easiest and quickest way to become a member or donate is to click the DONATE button in the upper right-hand corner to access our PAYPAL page. Your transaction will generate all the paperwork you need to support your tax deduction.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Your support of the COA also supports FMCOA. The more robust the COA is, the better the foundation on which FMCOA can build its support.
Participate in FMCOA/COA events. The Events tab of this website will tell you about upcoming FMCOA events. The Council on Aging tab has more information. And don't forget to subscribe to the COA's free monthly newsletter.
Support COA funding at Town Meetings. Every year, residents present at the meeting vote on the Town budget. FMCOA exists to supplement COA funding, not reduce the Town's obligation to fully fund its services. Since the COA, as a Town department, cannot advocate for itself at Town Meeting, help us ensure it is well funded.
Learn about the services the COA. If it isn't relevant to you right now, the knowledge may suddenly be handy in the future. You may also be able to share what you learn with a neighbor or friend who has a current need.

A robust membership base not only demonstrates community commitment but also enhances our capacity to support the Council on Aging (COA) and Marion seniors. Membership is flexible, allowing you to participate in ways that suit your preferences—whether attending our Annual Meeting each October, volunteering at events like the annual Yard Sale, or simply contributing through an annual donation. By becoming a member, we will keep you up to date on everything that is happening to benefit seniors in Marion. Every form of involvement strengthens our mission.
Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering with FMCOA provides direct support to programs and events that bring joy and essential services to our senior community. From assisting at social gatherings to participating in fundraising activities, your involvement makes a meaningful difference. FMCOA is currently looking for photographers and individuals with a modest level of technology skills. To learn more on how to help the Friends, email us at [email protected].
Many of our members volunteer at the COA, which maintains a volunteer roster for people wishing to provide hands-on support at the Center. To learn more on how to help at the COA, or to get on their volunteer list, please call 508-748-3570.

Alternatively, if you prefer to send a check, please download and complete our membership form. All checks should be payable to “FMCOA” and mailed to P.O. Box 937, Marion, MA 02738. We will provide you with an acknowledgment.
