Seniors on the Go

To enrich the lives of our older adults, FMCOA financially supports deeply discounted day trips to places like Tanglewood, Boston Holiday Pops, Boston Duck Tours, Thanksgiving Turkey Train, and Stockbridge Christmas.

Concerts in the Pavilion

Each year, FMCOA supports live indoor and outdoor concerts at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center Pavilion, providing seniors and community members the chance to enjoy music, social gatherings, and the beauty of Marion’s outdoor spaces. These concerts feature talented musicians and offer a relaxed, joyful atmosphere for all ages to enjoy.

The Spring Tea Party

The Spring Tea Party provides an opportunity for seniors to gather and enjoy tea, refreshments, and conversation. An elegant and charming tradition, it provides a warm and inviting setting. This event fosters social connections and offers a positive and delightful way to welcome the beauty of spring with friends and neighbors.

Pumpkin Palooza

A highlight of the fall season, Pumpkin Palooza is a multi-generational festival hosted in partnership with the FMCOA, the Marion Council on Aging, the Marion Recreation Department, Friends of Marion Recreation, the Police Department, the Fire Department and other local organizations. Families and community members of all ages come together to carve, decorate, and display pumpkins in a glowing, festive exhibit at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center.

The event also features seasonal activities, refreshments, and entertainment, creating a fun and interactive space for residents to celebrate autumn while strengthening community bonds.

Holiday Celebrations

The holiday season brings festive gatherings filled with cheer, music, and community spirit. FMCOA helps organize special events that bring older adults together to celebrate the season, share meals, and enjoy entertainment. The annual Festival of Trees raffles Christmas trees, holiday baskets, and gift cards, all donated and decorated by local businesses or individuals. These celebrations offer a welcoming space for seniors to connect and make lasting memories.

FMCOA Annual Meeting

Each year, we host our Annual Meeting to share updates, celebrate successes, and connect with members and donors. This gathering offers an opportunity to reflect on our impact, discuss future initiatives, and recognize the support of our generous community.

Centenarian Birthday Parties

Each year we host a 100th Birthday Party Celebration for Marion residents turning 100 years old. We celebrate our seniors!
